This is an important book for every American to read. Values-based politics means OUR values, not one set of values of a very vocal minority in the country. The authors put their values out there for us to consider, and also encourage us to figure out what our own are. It has helped me understand better what "progressive" means and where I fall in the political spectrum.

To Mr Liu and Mr Hanauer: Thank you so much for writing this book! My civics professor assigned it in class so reading it started as a chore but wound up being inspiring to me. Your message is simple but important. Everyone needs to read this.
